Weather

I want you to go to this site. You will see a map with glowing yellow-orange areas. Follow the directions to find out really amazing information. Once you have clicked on all the "hot spots" you will click on the comments section and write a paragraph on what you learned from each hot spot. You must have at least 4 paragraphs explaining what you learned from each hot spot. You are not required to write your responses in the comments section. You may write your responses on a piece of paper and turn it in to me. This assignment is worth 40 points. Points will be taken for not writing information in your own words, for not given enough information, for not having a complete paragraph. Please do your best.

Thank you.

1-) Coral Bleaching
Coral reefs are very important and should not be destroyed. Coral reefs make Money for Poor Countries because of Tourism, and protect Australia from Large Waves. Due to The Temperature rising, coral reefs are slowly going away which could be a horrible thing for some Countries.

2) Glaciers and Ice Sheets Melting
Glaciers and Ice sheets in Antarctica are melting in large amounts due to Gases and pollution (Also Known as "Global Warming") Sea Levels could get deeper due to the Ice thinning and coastal areas might be flooded.

3) Wildfires and droughts
Wildfires and Droughts have been occurring more frequently through the last couple years and some think that it is just a bad part of Earth's Normal Cycle, this isn't very good because there will be a shortage of wood and prices will soar up on produce.

From Olivia, P.S. there were only 3 videos that i saw...

coral reefs are not only important to us but to the fish as well. coral can be used for medicine, and even fiber tablets. it is also a very important habitat for fish. but thoughout the years the oceans are becoming warmer and the coral is bleaching. so coral isnt just important for us but also for the wildlife.

glaciers and ice sheets have been around forever...... they are suddenly melting due to global warming. some scientists think that if major ice sheets melt that costal areas will have dramatic rise in sea water. which could cause major floods.

Wild fires are a terrible thing thats happening the last couple decades. Its causing a shortage on lumber and killing crops. Droughts are also a terrible thing thats been happening. Droughts are causing dirt storms and also killing crops. Some people think its just a bad part of earths normal cycle, but maybe its not?
