Poets

This is the link to the list of poets. Your assignment is to choose a poet you find interesting. I am sorry, but it can't be a poet that I have shared with you in class. The objective is to find someone entirely new. Once you choose a poet, choose a poem from the selection to share with the class. I also want you to make a PowerPoint slide as I have with poets I shared in class. You can chose to use any of the book share ideas to share your poet with the class instead of making a slide if you wish.

Body Systems

This site lets you interact with the systems in your body. Please add notes to the ones you took from your book, as this site has more specific information. I do not expect you to write every little speck of information. I do want general information, and try clicking on "See Also" areas at the top of each system, including overview. When you click on those areas it gives you more info.
Just make sure you have made an effort to add information to what you learned from the book.

Teaching

http://wveis.k12.wv.us/Teach21/public/cso/cso.cfm Sorry about that.
Here are the first grade csos. When you go to the link you will need to select a subject you want to teach, and select first grade, then click "get cso". Scroll down each place you see a magnifying glass is an objective you can choose to teach. Make sure you scroll all the way to the bottom of the page before you decide. Also make positively sure you chose an "objective". Once you have decided on a subject, and content please approve it with me before you begin researching, or making up a plan. This will be for 20 bonus points, only in an area that you struggle in. Teaching is the best way to remember something, so if you have a hard time counting money, then make a lesson plan on counting money. :) Have fun.

A Midsummer Night's Dream

While you are on Spring Break please pick up your next book for our Lit. groups, A Midsummer Night's Dream, by; William Skakespeare. We will be reading the modern version, so be sure to only get the Shakespeare Made Easy version just as it is in the above pic. I have asked Borders and Empire to order more copies. As always you may also want to purchase the book online. The cost is approximately 6.99.
The below link is to Amazon to purchase the book, if you so wish.

Book Share

For Code Orange I want you to do a "book share", basically a book report. You may choose how you want to share Code Orange. Some ideas are from the handout I gave you, or from the following sites.

http://www.adherents.com/Religions_By_Adherents.html

Here are a few of the most practiced religions. Remember this site is not the only site you will use. I expect at least 3 other sources. Your sources must be sited on your bibliography page. I also want you to remember that you can never re-write something exactly as it is stated in the source. You must summarize the information in your own words. I expect to hear your voice in the paper, not the author of your source, and not your parents. This paper is worth 100 so make sure you are taking responsibility for the research that is involved.
