Midsummer Night's Dream

I also wanted to make sure you had notes for Midsummer Night's Dream.

This play is difficult to decipher the first time around, and even though we will discuss what is going on after we act out each scene, it is important that you understand the plot. Each night I expect you to go to this site and read the scene from that day. If you are feeling especially studious you may read ahead. I expect you to go over each scene in the book for the next day, especially if you have a part in it. Remember this is supposed to be fun. We will be reading and acting out the play together, going over each scene, and doing activities like a character map to understand the story. I just expect you to be prepared to read over your parts every night. We have to go fast because we are limited to 5 more days to finish it.

This is the site I need you to go to in order to review each chapter of the book before you take the A.R test. The last day to take the test will be this Wednesday. I am convinced if you study this site you will do well on the test.

Poets

This is the link to the list of poets. Your assignment is to choose a poet you find interesting. I am sorry, but it can't be a poet that I have shared with you in class. The objective is to find someone entirely new. Once you choose a poet, choose a poem from the selection to share with the class. I also want you to make a PowerPoint slide as I have with poets I shared in class. You can chose to use any of the book share ideas to share your poet with the class instead of making a slide if you wish.

Body Systems

This site lets you interact with the systems in your body. Please add notes to the ones you took from your book, as this site has more specific information. I do not expect you to write every little speck of information. I do want general information, and try clicking on "See Also" areas at the top of each system, including overview. When you click on those areas it gives you more info.
Just make sure you have made an effort to add information to what you learned from the book.

Teaching

http://wveis.k12.wv.us/Teach21/public/cso/cso.cfm Sorry about that.
Here are the first grade csos. When you go to the link you will need to select a subject you want to teach, and select first grade, then click "get cso". Scroll down each place you see a magnifying glass is an objective you can choose to teach. Make sure you scroll all the way to the bottom of the page before you decide. Also make positively sure you chose an "objective". Once you have decided on a subject, and content please approve it with me before you begin researching, or making up a plan. This will be for 20 bonus points, only in an area that you struggle in. Teaching is the best way to remember something, so if you have a hard time counting money, then make a lesson plan on counting money. :) Have fun.

http://www.adherents.com/Religions_By_Adherents.html

Here are a few of the most practiced religions. Remember this site is not the only site you will use. I expect at least 3 other sources. Your sources must be sited on your bibliography page. I also want you to remember that you can never re-write something exactly as it is stated in the source. You must summarize the information in your own words. I expect to hear your voice in the paper, not the author of your source, and not your parents. This paper is worth 100 so make sure you are taking responsibility for the research that is involved.

I want you to go to this site. You will see a map with glowing yellow-orange areas. Follow the directions to find out really amazing information. Once you have clicked on all the "hot spots" you will click on the comments section and write a paragraph on what you learned from each hot spot. Mockingbird Notes

Here is the site I really did not want you to use, however I feel that it is hard for some of you to understand, or remember what read a few days ago. Here is the issue, if you choose only to read the information from this site it will not fully prepare you for the test, quizzes or conversations, therefore it is very important that you read the chapter. This site is mainly for you to review only.http://www.cliffsnotes.com/WileyCDA/LitNote/To-Kill-a-Mockingbird.id-143.html

Civil Rights

On this site you will read an interview. I want you to select at least 5 questions from the interview, and write on paper, or my comments your reaction, (thoughts or feeling you had). Next look at the pictures, choose one photo to respond to on my blog, or on your paper. You may respond on the site, but remember I can't see your response unless you write it down and turn it in, or comment on my page. Lastly go through game space, and brain power. You may not get the answers correct, but the important part is to read about important people that fought for civil rights.

Questions: Answer these questions on your paper, or in my comments.

1.Were civil rights for only some citizens? Why, or why not?

2. Who were 3 people you learned about through this site? Name the person and what they did.

3. How do civil right effect your life?
This assignment is worth 50 points so do your best.

Snow Snow Snow!

Hey guys. I hope you are enjoying your many days off school. I also hope you all have electricity and are warm. Anyway the site I have placed above is a great help for your book, To Kill a Mockingbird. My hope is that you are all still reading a chapter a day. I have said a million times that no matter what you are supposed to read every day. :) Honestly if you have not it is not going to hurt you, but I hope if you see this you make an effort because we are seriously behind. The site really helps too so take some time to navigate over all of it. Again I hope you are all well and safe. See you soon.
